Arbroath Abbey

Over 700 years ago, the Declaration of Arbroath was sealed here. Not a bad bit of history for a day out.

Arbroath Abbey's grounds, visitor centre and the Medieval Powerhouse exhibition are open daily, 10am to 4.30pm (closed for lunch 12.30 to 1.30). I'll be honest: the inside of the abbey itself is currently closed off while they inspect the masonry, but the visitor centre tells the story brilliantly.
